More than 431 children injured due to the russian invasion to Ukraine

The number of killed children compared to the data on the morning of May 22 has not changed and is 232, the number of injured has increased by 1 to 431 since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

This is stated in the message of the Prosecutor General's Office, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

«663 children suffered in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of May 23, 2022, the official number of child victims has not changed – 232. The number of injured has increased – 431,» the statement says.

Children suffered the most in Donetsk region – 145, Kyiv region – 116, Kharkiv region – 102, Chernihiv region – 68, Kherson region – 49, Luhansk region - 48, Mykolaiv region – 45, Zaporizhzhia region – 28, Sumy region – 17, in the city of Kyiv – 16, and in Zhytomyr region – 15.

It is indicated that on May 21, as a result of shelling by the invaders of the village of Molodetske, Bilozirskyi district, Kherson region, a 7-year-old girl was injured.

As a result of daily bombardments and shelling of Ukrainian cities and villages, 1,837 educational institutions were damaged by the Russian military, 172 of them were completely destroyed.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported, on April 11, Ukraine and Lithuania agreed to cooperate in the field of protecting children affected by the war in Ukraine.

On March 19, the occupiers illegally took to Russia 2,389 children who were in the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
