According to official information from juvenile prosecutors and the National Police of Ukraine, 637 children have died and more than 2,006 have been injured to varying degrees. In total, more than 2,600 children have been affected in Ukraine as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression.

On June 5, 2025, a group of representatives from the National Agency of Ukraine for the Identification, Search, and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA) and employees of the management company KAMparitet unexpectedly arrived at the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine (FPU) and announced that the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv had issued another court decision imposing an arrest on the Trade Union House.

The International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) strongly condemned the attempt to undermine the work of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine and its member organizations by unjustifiably seizing the Trade Union House in Kyiv.

One of the most alarming manifestations of such pressure was the personal search and detention by security forces on April 9, 2025, of Federation of Trade Unions President Grigoryy Osovyy upon his arrival at the reporting and election conference of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Volyn Region.

On June 4, Ukraine honors the memory of children who died as a result of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.

On May 12, 2025, a roundtable discussion «Fair Remuneration in Education – a Key to the Development of Society and the State» was held at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

The Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine and the Education Ombudsman have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at protecting the rights of teachers and students, improving their working and learning conditions, and developing social dialogue. The document was signed by Georgiy Trukhanov, President of the Trade Union, and Nadiya Leshchyk, Education Ombudsman.

Childhood should be bright, full of joy, warmth and safety. Pre-school education institutions that have suffered the consequences of the war need support to continue to stay a space of development, comfort and happy moments for children.

On March 14, 2025, a press conference was held in Kyiv to launch the project of the first trade union partnership between the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine (TUESWU) and the German Education Union (GEW).  

Danish Union of Early Childhood and Youth Educators (BUPL) has provided financial assistance to the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine (TUESWU) to support two preschools in Kyiv that were damaged by Russian missile attacks.
