Danish support for Ukrainian kids: another kindergarten in Kyiv received assistance

Childhood should be bright, full of joy, warmth and safety. Pre-school education institutions that have suffered the consequences of the war need support to continue to stay a space of development, comfort and happy moments for children.

As previously reported, the Danish Union of Early Childhood and Youth Educators (BUPL) provided financial assistance to the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine to contribute to the educational process in two kindergartens in Kyiv that were affected by Russian attacks.

The funds were used to purchase the necessary equipment to improve the working conditions of teachers, provide materials for the educational process and psychological support for children.

On March 27, 2025, Olha Chabaniuk, the TUESWU Vice President, Oleksandr Yatsun, Chairman of the Kyiv City Organization of the Trade Union and representatives of district trade union organizations visited the kindergarten No. 131 to see the educational space for children that was renovated thanks to the support of the BUPL.

A renovated resource room filled with new boards, educational toys, construction sets and everything required to turn learning into an exciting and joyful adventure.

«After the kindergarten was damaged by the Russian missile, in this place the children finally found comfort and the opportunity to explore the world without worry.

We are grateful to the wonderful team of educators and the trade union committee for their dedication, warmth and professionalism. It is thanks to your work that this institution has become a place where children can feel joy, safety and support again» said Olha Chabaniuk, Vice President of the Trade Union, during her visit to kindergarten No. 131.
