Memorandum of Cooperation between the Trade Union and the Education Ombudsman signed
The Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine and the Education Ombudsman have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at protecting the rights of teachers and students, improving their working and learning conditions, and developing social dialogue. The document was signed by Georgiy Trukhanov, President of the Trade Union, and Nadiya Leshchyk, Education Ombudsman.
The main areas of cooperation:
- Protection of labor, socio-economic and educational rights - working together to improve legislation on remuneration, labor relations and social guarantees for educators;
- Support for students - promoting equal access to quality education, combating discrimination and bullying;
- Improvement of working and learning conditions - creating a safe and comfortable educational environment;
- Social dialog - implementing joint initiatives, holding round tables, workshops and conferences to address current educational issues;
- Public awareness - disseminating important information through the mass media, social networks and official platforms, and popularizing legal education initiatives.
Implementation mechanisms:
- consultations and joint working groups;
- identification of contact persons for effective coordination;
- organization of events with the involvement of civil society organizations and experts;
- participation in the discussion of legislative initiatives and regulations.
The parties emphasized the importance of partnership and social dialogue for the development of education in Ukraine. The signing of this document is an important step in strengthening the influence of the educational community on legislative processes and effective protection of the rights of teachers and students.
