Trade Union Confirms Sectoral Representative Status in Ukraine

The Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine has received an official Certificate of Representativeness, confirming that it meets the established criteria for representation at the sectoral level.

The certificate was formally presented on July 2, 2026, in a ceremony attended by Dmytro Kukhniuk, Head of Ukraine's National Mediation and Reconciliation Service (NMRS), who handed the document to Georhiy Trukhanov, President of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine.

Under Ukraine's Procedure for Assessing Compliance with Representativeness Criteria and Confirming the Representativeness of Trade Unions and Employers' Organizations, the union was officially recognized as meeting the criteria for sectoral-level representation. This status confirms its right to participate in collective bargaining for sectoral and cross-sectoral agreements, as well as to delegate authorized representatives to relevant social dialogue bodies.

According to NMRS Head Dmytro Kukhniuk, confirming the union's representative status marks an important milestone in the development of social dialogue within the education sector. He emphasized that the Service operates on principles of impartiality and equality between parties, working to foster mutual understanding and consensus in resolving issues within the social and labor sphere.

"This certificate of representativeness is the state's recognition of our authority to protect the socio-economic interests of education workers, and of our capacity to effectively resolve pressing issues through social dialogue at the highest level," said Trade Union President Georhiy Trukhanov.

He also thanked the National Mediation and Reconciliation Service for its consistent efforts in advancing social dialogue and building mutual understanding between the parties involved, underscoring the importance of constructive cooperation among all participants in labor relations.
